In short: Mal collects nothing and shares nothing. Everything you enter stays on your phone. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no internet permission, so it cannot send your data anywhere.
What the app stores, and where
Your transactions, income, wallets, categories, budgets, recurring items and settings are stored in a database on your device. We (the developer) never receive them. If you turn on App lock, your PIN is stored on the device in Android's secure storage; fingerprint unlock uses Android's own biometric prompt, and Mal never sees your fingerprint.
Bank SMS (optional)
The "Add from SMS" feature is off until you turn it on. Before Android asks you for permission, the app explains what it reads. When it's on:
- Mal reads only messages from bank and wallet senders. One-time codes (OTP) and personal messages are ignored.
- The message is read on your phone. From a bank message Mal keeps only what it needs for the transaction: the sender, amount, currency, merchant, the card's last 4 digits, the date and a short note. It also keeps a fingerprint (hash) of the message so the same message isn't added twice. The full message text is not stored.
- Nothing is uploaded or shared.
Permissions: RECEIVE_SMS reads new bank messages as they arrive; READ_SMS is used once for the optional 30-day catch-up; POST_NOTIFICATIONS lets Mal ask you before adding a transaction. You can turn the feature off, or revoke the permissions in Android settings, at any time.
Backups and exports
When you export a backup or a CSV file, Mal writes it to a place you choose. Where it goes from there is up to you.
Deleting your data
Settings → Clear all data deletes everything in the app. Uninstalling Mal also deletes all of its data from your phone.
Children
Mal is a personal finance tool meant for adults and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.

باختصار: تطبيق مال لا يجمع أي بيانات ولا يشاركها. كل ما تدخله يبقى على هاتفك. لا يوجد حساب ولا إعلانات ولا تحليلات، ولا يملك التطبيق إذن الاتصال بالإنترنت، فلا يستطيع إرسال بياناتك إلى أي مكان.
ما الذي يحفظه التطبيق، وأين
تُحفظ معاملاتك ودخلك ومحافظك وفئاتك وميزانياتك ومصروفاتك المتكررة وإعداداتك في قاعدة بيانات على جهازك، ولا تصل إلينا أبدًا. إذا فعّلت قفل التطبيق، يُحفظ الرمز السري على جهازك في التخزين الآمن لأندرويد. أما فتح القفل بالبصمة فيتم عبر نافذة أندرويد نفسها، ولا يرى التطبيق بصمتك.
رسائل البنك (اختياري)
ميزة «الإضافة من الرسائل» متوقفة حتى تفعّلها بنفسك، ويشرح لك التطبيق ما سيقرأه قبل أن يطلب أندرويد الإذن. عند تفعيلها:
- يقرأ التطبيق رسائل البنوك والمحافظ فقط، ويتجاهل رموز التحقق (OTP) والرسائل الشخصية.
- تُقرأ الرسالة على هاتفك. ويحتفظ التطبيق فقط بما تحتاجه المعاملة: المُرسِل، والمبلغ، والعملة، والتاجر، وآخر ٤ أرقام من البطاقة، والتاريخ، وملاحظة قصيرة. كما يحتفظ ببصمة (hash) للرسالة حتى لا تُضاف مرتين. لا يُحفظ نص الرسالة كاملًا.
- لا يُرفع أي شيء ولا يُشارك.
الأذونات: RECEIVE_SMS لقراءة رسائل البنك الجديدة عند وصولها، وREAD_SMS مرة واحدة لفحص آخر ٣٠ يومًا إذا طلبت ذلك، وPOST_NOTIFICATIONS ليسألك التطبيق قبل إضافة المعاملة. يمكنك إيقاف الميزة أو سحب الأذونات من إعدادات أندرويد في أي وقت.
النسخ الاحتياطي والتصدير
عند تصدير نسخة احتياطية أو ملف CSV، يحفظه التطبيق في المكان الذي تختاره، وما يحدث له بعد ذلك يعود إليك.
حذف بياناتك
من الإعدادات ← مسح كل البيانات يُحذف كل ما في التطبيق. كما يحذف إلغاء تثبيت التطبيق كل بياناته من هاتفك.
الأطفال
تطبيق مال أداة لإدارة المال الشخصي موجّهة للبالغين، وليس موجّهًا للأطفال.
التغييرات
إذا تغيّرت هذه السياسة، سنحدّث هذه الصفحة وتاريخ سريانها.
